STEAM Festival 2023


Explore the science of all things yummy at STEAM Festival 2023 – a 6-day celebration of the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics!

Learn, experience, and make new discoveries of exciting STEAM concepts behind food through the following festival highlights:

 

  • The A-Maze-ing Digestive Playscape: An immersive mini-exhibition on nutrition and the wonders of the digestive system.
  • Healthy Plate-Mates: An interactive installation on components of a balanced diet, featuring artworks from more than 500 children. 
  • Food-related science demonstrations, activities and weekend workshops for children, parents and educators alike.
  • Experiential activity booths by a variety of delectable festival partners!

    Explore how Science can be found all around us at The WonderLab, a unique section dedicated to simple food and kitchen science activities. Designed with self-help in mind, The WonderLab offers three engaging activities to bond with your children/students with at the festival.

     

    • Dive into "Fish to Dish" and learn about healthy eating as you sort out the difference between healthy and unhealthy food.
    • Unleash your creativity with "Conductive Dough" as you light up an LED bulb using dough, sparking your curiosity about science in the kitchen.
    • In "Happy Food," children craft happy faces with images of healthy foods, discovering why these choices contribute to our well-being.
    Get your stamp of accomplishment after each activity and let the WonderLab inspire your child's curiosity.

     

     

    03_STEAM Festival 2023 (Dropdown bars)-Food Drive
    In partnership with The Food Bank Singapore, STEAM Festival 2023 will be running a food donation drive to ensure a steady supply of food rations for the needy. Simply bring your donations along when you visit the festival and deposit them at The Food Bank Singapore’s booth!

    Non-perishable food that can be accepted for donation include:

    • Staples (Rice, Noodles, Pasta)
    • Beverages (UHT Milk, Ready-to-drink, non-refrigerated drinks)
    • Condiments (Oil, Seasoning, Spices, Spreads)
    • Snacks (Biscuits, Cereals, Chips)
    • Canned Food
    • All food have to be unopened, unexpired (no less than 4 weeks of shelf life) and in their original packaging.
