Science Fiction or Science Fact?
What is Science Fiction? Does it need to be all that fictitious? Explore how else science can influence literature and literary art-forms. Join us for a panel discussion with an actual rocket scientist and science poet.
Simon Gwozdz, CEO and Founder of Equatorial Space
Simon will be introducing the fundamentals of spacecraft and spaceflight. With references to pop culture, he will analyse how space exploration has been (mis)represented and debunk discrepancies in science fiction.
Cheyenne Alexandria Phillips, Writer, Executive at Checkpoint Theatre
Cheyenne will be sharing how scientific concepts can be expressed in various creative forms such as poetry, play and prose. She will be taking audience members through different exercises to explore these creative methods and recommend local science fiction books for audiences to read.
