A total of 72 teams from 37 secondary schools have signed up for the Big Data Challenge, with 34 teams coming from 20 STEM ALP schools. To prepare our fellow educators, a small team of 5 STEM educators ran an in-house “Design of Experiment” workshop on 19 May for everyone to familiarise with the design steps and brainstorm interesting experiment examples.
This was followed by 4 sessions of student training workshops conducted by the Singapore University of Technology and Design and A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing in end May at Mendel Auditorium, Science Centre Singapore. Students learnt about the capabilities of the SENSg device and how to use the ModStore to extract and analyse the data.
The NSE Big Data Challenge 2017 is now ongoing. Deadline for report submission is 4 Aug 2017 .
