Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate team member to join our family as an Associate of Sustainability who will play a key role in advancing the organisation's’ Sustainability and Well-being’ efforts. At the heart of this roles lies the passion for advancing our sustainability efforts and making a real impact. This position will involve collaborating with various departments to develop and implement innovative sustainability practices, monitor environmental impact, and contribute to the overall Sustainability and Well-being strategy of the Science Centre. In addition, the role will include management of the organisation’s ESG framework and reporting, including monitoring of environmental metrics related and building-related processes in compliance with environment standards.


Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities of the Associate of Sustainability include duties in the following areas of ‘Sustainability and Well-being’ Culture Development and Environmental Sustainability Management.

 

(A) Sustainability and Well-being Culture Development

  1. Be an eco-champion and support the planning and execution of organisational ‘Sustainability and Well-being’ initiatives.
  2. Prepare communication messages and collaterals to promote awareness and enhance ‘Sustainability and Well-being’ practices within Science Centre regularly.
  3. Team up with different departments on Sustainability projects to encourage a positive mindset towards ‘Sustainability and Well-being’ within their work settings.

 

(B) Environmental Sustainability Management

  1. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of an Environmental Management System.
  2. Keep a keen eye on our environmental footprint and monitor, collect and analyse sustainability related data specific to the Science Centre, including energy consumption, and waste management to identify areas for improvement and to track progress.
  3. Prepare and submit required environmental permit applications, compliance reports and documentation (Environmental Sustainability Disclosure Report / ESG report)
  4. Participate in Environmental Sustainability training sessions and conduct internal sharing on best practices for staff.
  5. Identify and co-develop innovative sustainability technologies and IoT applications for implementation by co-creating with staff teams and the community where appropriate.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a good Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-4 years of relevant experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Science or related fields.

 

Candidates must have the following skills, attitudes and behaviours;

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards, such as GRI, ESG or carbon accounting standards is preferred.
  • Project and/or event management experience is preferred.
    • Strong passion for Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences including students, educators, and industry partners.
    • Organised, responsive, able to multi-task and adaptable to changes.
