Keynote Address

Dr. Sherry Hsi, PhD
BSCS Science Learning
Berkeley, CA, USA

Dr. Sherry Hsi is a Principal Scientist at BSCS Science Learning, a non-profit organisation that develops curricular materials, provides professional learning, and conducts research and evaluation in science and technology. With degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, she has an interdisciplinary background in engineering design, science education and the learning sciences.

At present, Dr. Hsi is leading STEM curriculum development on the Making Waves with Radio (radioeverywhere.org) project to support the teaching of WiFi and radio frequency communications for youth in partnership with science centres and museums that serve underrepresented STEM populations in New Mexico, California, and North Carolina.

 

 

With respect to teaching, Dr. Hsi has designed and organised conferences and workshops sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation and given guest lectures at U.C. Berkeley, Boston College’s Learning Engineering program, and the InfoSys Foundation for K12 STEM teachers in PaperMech. When Dr. Hsi is not at work, she enjoys playing violin, baking, and oil painting.
