📍 3pm | 5pm

Life happened in the Serengeti on an unprecedented scale. It's home to most of Africa's iconic animals, and hosts one of the world's greatest natural events - the annual wildebeest migration. Nature has orchestrated a perfect symphony in which every species has a very distinct role to play in a larger story - the balance of an entire ecosystem.

A film for all ages, audiences will follow the newest members of the animal cast as they imitate their parents and embark on their lives' journeys. Prepare to be awed by this immersive giant screen 3D IMAX film about how nature works in one of the world's greatest ecosystems.

Serengeti: Journey to the Heart of Africa is produced by Definition Studios and distributed by K2 Studios.

Relevance to 21CC Framework

Adaptive Thinking

Observing Biological Adaptability: Students witness how Serengeti wildlife uses cognitive flexibility to survive. For example, wildebeests must dynamically alter their migration paths based on unpredictable weather patterns, predator densities, and dried-up watering holes.

Tolerance of Ambiguity: Ecosystems do not operate on rigid and predictable rules. By watching how a single change (like a delayed rainy season) cascades across the food web, students practice thinking through complex, multi-variable problems where there is no single "right answer".

Communication, Collaboration and Information Skills

Information Literacy (Managing Data): The documentary presents a massive influx of visual and auditory data regarding biodiversity, population dynamics, and climate trends. Students must practice extracting key pieces of information, evaluating ecological variables, and filtering noise to understand core ecosystem functions.

Complex Communication: Explaining ecological balance requires students to move past simple scientific jargon. To share their findings through a class presentation, infographic, or debate, they must learn how to frame data effectively for their audience, practicing the clear, and persuasive delivery demanded by the 21CC framework while actively considering and engaging with the differing perspectives of their peers.
