Celebrate Singapore's National Day at this specially curated ocean-themed festival
Mark the National Day long weekend by discovering Singapore's deep connection with the ocean at KidsSTOP™, Singapore's dedicated children's science museum!
Young children and families will get to:
Catch timed storytelling and hands-on activity sessions that explore Singapore's maritime legends, island communities, and local seafood, or strike a pose at our vibrant photo spot to capture memories for the whole family.

1. Stories by the Shore
Session Timings: 10am – 10.30am, 10.45am – 11.15am, 11.30am – 12pm
Step into a lively seaside kampung where stories come alive through play, music, and imagination. Join actor-storytellers from Strawberries Inc. on an interactive journey through the legend of Badang as children help villagers, learn traditional practices, and discover the importance of community and caring for the environment. The experience concludes with a hands-on coastal craft activity.
2. The Orang Seletar Legend of The naming of Singapore
Session Timings: 12.30pm – 1pm, 1.15pm – 1.45pm, 2pm – 2.30pm
Join Local Nusantara storyteller Hafiz Rashid as he brings to life the legend of how Singapore got its name, through the eyes of the Orang Seletar community. Through this tale, children will learn the power of community spirit and collective problem-solving. The session concludes with a hands-on craft activity where children work together to build a raft together.
3. Fishy Tails
Ongoing from 3pm – 5pm
Get hands on with fish tails to create an artwork with various tails found from the wet market! Join PasarFishSG who will share their knowledge about ocean life, its threats, and what we can do to protect it.

Dive beneath the surface and discover Singapore's marine biodiversity. Meet live marine creatures, discover how scientists study plankton and the impact of microplastics, contribute to a growing community coral reef, and play in an enchanting liquid light scape. Families can also slow down in a tranquil ocean retreat filled with quiet, self-guided activities.

Step into the role of an ocean innovator and explore how science, engineering and technology are shaping the future of marine conservation. Code underwater robots to venture into the unexplored deep sea, then put your creativity to the test by building artificial reef structures that could one day help restore marine habitats.

1. Magnetic Fishing Game by Families for Life
Date: 8 Aug Timing: 10am – 5pm
Cast your line and reel in some family fun! This interactive Magnetic Fishing Game invites parents and children to use magnetic fishing rods to catch colourful fish together, encouraging teamwork, laughter, and positive family bonding memories along the way.
2. Create your own Seascape! by Singapore Art Museum
Date: 8 – 9 Aug Timing: 10am – 5pm
Dive into a creative exploration inspired by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s iconic Seascapes series! Children will get to create their own imagined seascape using coloured salt. By layering colours, they can interpret the meeting of sea and sky and experiment with their own unique horizon lines.
3. Tangram and Ocean Sensory Bin by Mendaki
Date: 8 – 10 Aug Timing: 10am – 12pm
Dive into two ocean-themed games - Tangram puzzles and a sensory sorting bin, for a fun, hands-on experience the whole family can enjoy together!
