UNTAME Schools is back for 2025 with the theme  ‘Time - Beyond The Clock’!

The UNTAME post-exam programme returns this year with a spotlight on STEM exploration and discovery. A key highlight is the STAR Lecture, where acclaimed scientist Dr. Eugene will uncover the intriguing science behind how we experience time. Not to be missed is the STEM Playground Grand Finale, where learning comes alive through exciting hands-on challenges.

Science Centre admission is complimentary for local schools and international schools who are Science Centre members. Science Centre admission fees apply to non-member international schools based in Singapore.

Join our anchor scientist to uncover the science of time perception in STAR Lecture 2025 – discover how your brain shapes your sense of time, from everyday moments to those when time seems to slip away!

About the Anchor Scientist:

Dr. Eugene Y.S. Chua

Dr. Eugene Y.S. Chua 
Nanyang Assistant Professor of Philosophy 
School of Humanities 
NTU Singapore 

 

Dr Eugene Y. S. Chua is Nanyang Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he leads the Foundations of Thermodynamics group. He received his BA and MA from the University of Cambridge and his PhD from the University of California San Diego. Before returning to Singapore, he was Ahmanson Postdoctoral Instructor in Philosophy of Science at the California Institute of Technology. His work focuses primarily on the philosophy of physics, with a special interest in the conceptual foundations of thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and the emergence of time in fundamental physics.

Join us at the STAR Lecture Encore, a video production done by our very own Science Centre team featuring our anchor scientist and discover how your brain shapes your sense of time, from everyday moments to those when time seems to slip away!

The Grand Finale brings STEM learning and creative problem-solving to life! Participants will team up to brainstorm innovative ideas, tackle exciting challenges, and stand a chance to win attractive prizes together! The STEM Playground Grand Finale of 2025 will feature a fresh new challenge.

Please arrive 30 min earlier than the stated programme start time to allow time for registration and moving to the venue.

To minimise disruption, latecomers will be denied entry to STAR Lecture and/or STEM Playground Grand Finale, as applicable.

However, they can still visit the galleries at Science Centre. Confirmation of booking will be sent through our online booking system (OBS) and will be invoiced directly to your school.
