    Sustainability: Protect Our Future with STEM Camp

    A two-day programme for 12 to 17-year-old participants to garner their interest in STEM and learn more about its application in sustainability. Participants will be given opportunities to expand their STEM knowledge and skills and be inspired to use them to change the world for the better. They will work in groups to design and build a prototype at the end of the camp to addresses a real-world problem related to sustainability.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Equip the participants with design-thinking skills to prepare them to be active contributors of solutions to achieve the assigned United Nations Sustainable Development Goals;
    • An opportunity to have a gallery walk in the science centre and get inspired by the innovations to apply in their projects;
    • Equip the participants with the STEM skills to translate knowledge learnt from the various workshops into prototyping solutions for real-world issues;
    • Familiarize the participants with programming and computational thinking using micro:bit as a technology enabler;
    • Support participant’s development of STEM dispositions which include curiosity, resilience and dare-to-try spirit, collaboration

    Make Your Move with STEM Camp

    (Pre-requisite: some block coding experience required from the participant)

    A three-day programme for 13 to 17-year-old participants to promote interest in STEM education. It also enables participants to learn key STEM skills and knowledge applicable in the robotics field. Participants will be learning how to programme RoboMaster and will be applying that in our specially curated fun challenges.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Equip the participants with the STEM skills to translate knowledge learnt from the workshops into prototypes for testing;
    • Excite the participants in the robotics field via robot battle against other participants through its first-person view;
    • Enable participants to utilise PID control for autonomous movement of the robotic car; 
    • Enable participants to perform AI visual image recognition;
    • Support participant’s development of STEM dispositions which include curiosity, resilience and dare-to-try spirit

    The safety and wellbeing of our staff and campers are of our top priority. To ensure a safe camp experience at the Science Centre Singapore, please review the requirements below that your child is eligible to participate before registering and prior to attending.

    Infinite Plurielles

    They are chemists, biologists, or mathematicians. They are (Astro) physicists, lawyers, historians, or climatologists. Some are young researchers; others are professors or engineers. They work in the private or public sector.  They can be anyone but all are women!

    Moderated by A/Prof Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive of Science Centre Singapore, this digital conference features four prominent women from both Singapore and France, who are STEM warriors in research and the corporate world. Come listen to them as they share their discovery and love of STEM, and demystify their careers in science. Be inspired by their exemplary success stories which show that gender is no barrier to being the best that one can be in one’s chosen field.

    From now till 30 November 2020, sign up for any of EduFun's December Holiday Workshop for $100 only!

    Originally priced at $180 per Primary 1 - 4 subject and $200 per Primary 5 - 6 subject,  parents or guardians may opt for English, Creative Writing in English, Heuristic Mathematics or Heuristic Science workshop for their child or ward. Designed to prep students for the new academic year, the 1.5-hour preparatory workshop will be conducted weekly at Science Centre Singapore.
