Support our Cause by Giving to Education
Education through interaction and engagement is what Science Centre Singapore embodies.
Science and technology is vital in nation-building as it plays an important role in the everyday life and development of a nation. The role of the Science Centre is to promote interest, learning and creativity in science and technology, through imaginative and enjoyable experience so as to contribute to the nation’s development of its human resource. This can only be achieved through the strong support of donors and sponsors towards the cause of the Science Centre.
Your contribution will help make a difference to the education scene in science and technology. Donations will immediately provide support for quality science and technology education programmes, improving works of science, and many more. Gifts of all sizes are crucial to the success of our mission, and there are no gifts too small. Donors will be eligible for double tax deduction (through 2015). Double tax deduction applies for the year of assessment following the year in which the donation took place. In other words, two times the value of the donation will be deducted from the donor’s taxable income for that particular year of assessment.
We invite you to contribute towards the following efforts:
Make a contribution to help set up the first digital planetarium in Singapore! Your donation will support our efforts to enhance the Omni-Theatre by bringing on a powerful tool that provides customised astronomical and cosmic contents targeted at meeting the different audience needs.
To rekindle the spirit of exploration and discovery, a new children’s play area will be set up at the Centre. Slated to occupy a sprawling 3,000m2 space at our Omni-Theatre building, the Children Science Centre will provide a safe and exciting environment with endless opportunities for young children (age 8 and below) and their families to explore the wonders of the world together. They will be asked to Imagine, Experience, Discover and Dream.
The Interactive Virtual Aquarium (IVA) is a state-of-the-art experience that allows visitors to view and interact with aquatic creatures. The multi-sensory experience involves sight, sound and interaction. Costing $500,000, the IVA is developed by EON Reality, a U.S. based company who is the world’s leading interactive 3D solutions provider.
Space Academy Singapore (SAS) is Singapore’s premiere space training programme conducted with a special focus to create public awareness in the space industry, and to promote science and engineering among students. Only the very best make it through astronaut selection, with all-rounded individuals eventually exploring the last frontier for all mankind.
The vision is to develop the event into the “must-visit Science Festival in Asia Pacific”. We are well-placed to achieve this with our strong Science & Technology base, institutional links and network with local and international scientists and researchers. The festival seeks to enrich and engage audiences in the Asia Pacific region, enabling them to learn something and develop an interest in Science.
Science Shows are one of the Science Centre Singapore’s highlight for visitors. With a strong belief that staged science shows are fundamental, essential programmes for the Science Centre, our team of passionate educators aspire to reinvent our shows. We welcome working with sponsors to develop a Signature Science Show that promotes entertaining and relevant science to all.
