Essential Job Functions

As a Project Officer, you will be responsible for the planning and development of exhibitions and exhibition-related programmes. You are required to research and prepare, content that can be translated into interactive science exhibits. In addition, you will prepare articles, pamphlets, resource guides in connection with the exhibitions, as well as related promotional and educational programmes.

You will be required to work with a team to prepare technical documents for Tender/Procurement exercises and conduct tender briefings for contractors. You will also be involved in the planning and the supervision of the fabrication of exhibits to ensure exhibits safety and risk assessment are taken into consideration while meeting project schedules.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be passionate about science and science communication. The candidate should be knowledgeable in Science and be familiar with Science Research. Good understanding of the modern concepts in the Life Sciences/Physical Sciences would be an advantage. The candidate must possess the ability to express clearly and in oral and written form the principles and applications of science and technology to both students and the public.

The candidate must be creative, be curious, and have a keen interest in exhibitions and project management work. The ability to create/tell stories to boost science communication is an advantage. You will need to be able to multi-task while working under pressure and independently.

Candidates with relevant experience in education, the museum industry and project management are preferred. He/she has to perform weekend duties including public holidays as and when required.
