How does a perfumer extract the essential oil from plants? Join this workshop to find out different techniques of making scents, starting from distillation, esterification, separation technique and perfume formulation. Don t miss the chance to create your own perfume using various essential oils and fragrance oils at the end of the lesson!

Objectives:
1. Explain that substances can be extracted and separated through the following techniques: distillation
2. Describe a chemical reaction as a process that leads to the formation of new products
3. Suggest suitable separation and purification methods, given information about the substances involved in the following types of mixtures: liquid-liquid (miscible and immiscible) 
4. state some commercial uses of esters, e.g. perfumes, flavourings; solvents
5. Organic Chemistry Reaction between Alcohols and Carboxylic Acids, the formation of Esters (Creating An Ester)
