Minecraft is a video game that allows the players to build structures and models with blocks in a 3D world. Grounded in real-life materials science, Minecraft provides a compelling and fun way to learn how materials are extracted, refined and used in different ways. In this workshop, work collaboratively with your fellow players to solve a Minecraft challenge, using science!

1. Learn how different materials can be classified based on their physical properties
2. Compare physical property of materials (hardness)
3. Relate the use of various types of materials to their physical properties
4. Complete a survival challenge as a class
