Started in 2011, STAR Lecture features scientists from Christmas Lecture, United Kingdom. This year, we partner with Royal Institution (UK) to bring you a hybrid STAR Lecture experience in the comfort of your school as well as a hands-on session available only in Science Centre.

STAR Lecture Exclusive Screening

Featuring Dr Helen Czerski as she unpicks Earth’s heating and plumbing systems! She will show us how shifting ocean water creates an engine that distributes heat and nutrients around our planet.

Dr Helen Czerski will be sharing with us on her recent research trip in the ocean and will include brand new footages that has not been aired before!

Date: 25 Oct to 11 Nov (Exclusive of weekends)

Time: 10am to 11am or 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Mode of delivery: Online via Zoom or screening at Science Centre

Dr Toh

Interaction with Local Scientist

To complement students’ learning, we are honoured to have Dr Toh Tai Chong, Marine Biologist at NUS and Co-founder of Our Singapore Reefs to conduct hands-on activities at Science Centre. 

He will be sharing with students on Singapore’s coastal and underwater zone using VR goggles. In addition, students will be examining marine specimens under the microscope and work together to design and build costal defenses.

Each session is limited to 40 students. Book fast to avoid disappointment!

Date: 15, 17, 18 Nov (Tues, Thurs, Fri)

Time: 10.30am to 12pm or 2.30pm to 4pm
