SCSA 2010 WhizKid Category theme is "I Can Dance"
The main objective of this competition is to promote creativity among the primary students. The competition also provides an opportunity for them to learn about science beyond the classrooms in a fun and enjoyable way. The competition is divided into two categories: - Scizkid Award is an open category which comprises of 2 sections- "Primary 1 & 2" and "Primary 3-6". Participants are required to submit toys that are safe to construct and play with. Toys need not follow any particular theme, you are allowed to choose any suitable materials to create a toy, as long as the toy demonstrates at least one scientific principle.
- Whizkid Award has a theme of I Can Dance. You able to create a toy that can jiggle, jive and is fun to play with? Your toy can be made of any material, as long as movement is created when the toy is played with, such as a dancing doll, bouncing bunny or even a monkey climbing up a tree. The possibilities are endless ? explore and experiment!
The Best Multi-Player Toy Award, which was introduced in 2009, continues this year to encourage participants to build a fun and interactive toy that requires at least two players! This award can be under either ScizKid Award or WhizKid Award. Book these dates in your calendar! Schools will need to submit FORM A to indicate their intention to participate in SCSA by 31 March 2010. Submit your toy entries to the Science Centre Singapore on 25 and 26 May 2010. Look out for the Awards Presentation Ceremony that will be held at the Science Centre Singapore in July 2010.
