Awards
The competition is divided into two sections:
- ScizKid Award (separated into Primary 1-2 and Primary 3-6)
- WhizKid Award (open to Primary 1 to 6 students)
The ScizKid Award section is a general one where you can make any type of toy you want, as long as it demonstrates at least one scientific principle, and the toy is safe to construct and play with.
For the WhizKid Award section, the theme is "Make Us Laugh" for this year. That means you have to create a toy that uses at least one spring to generate motion. You do not need to restrict yourself to a certain number of movements, type of movement or even the type of face. Please refer to the entry form under the "Join the competition" link above.

Prizes
ScizKid Award Primary 1 and 2 Category
Merit / Special Prizes - Sony product vouchers worth S$150 each
ScizKid Award Primary 3 to 6 Category and WhizKid Award
Each Catepgory to receive:

All participants will receive certificates of participation and winning entries will be exhibited.

School Prizes
Schools also stand to win prizes for producing any of the top three prize winners (ScizKid Award Primary 3 to 6 and WhizKid Award categories only).
Schools will receive:
| First Prize | - S$1500 cash + certificate | | Second Prize | - S$1000 cash + certificate | | Third Prize | - S$500 cash + certificate |
Additional bonus - schools (in each category) with the most number of shortlisted toys in the final judging will also receive a cash prize of S$1000.

Veteran's Choice Awards
Students also stand to win prizes for the Veteran's Choice Awards, where past winners of SCSA judge their favourites from the short listed entries (ScizKid Award Pri 3-6 & WhizKid Award categories only). Each winner will receive a Sony product voucher worth S$50.

Multi-Players Toy Award
SCSA 2009 is proud to introduce a new special award - Best Multi-Player Toy Award! It encourages participants to build a fun and interactive toy that requires at least two players! This award can be under either Scikid Award or Whizkid.
