Question No.  12008 :
How small is one micron? What is the diameter of a human hair in microns?

Micron is a unit of length, which is one millionth of a metre. Hence, 1 mm equals 1,000 microns. The human scalp contains an average of about 100,000 hairs. Each hair is approximately one fifth of a millimetre in diameter, or roughly 200 microns.
