WHAT IS HAPPENING
As they are spun around, the plants experience a centre-pointing force called the centripetal force. Each plant feels a different force and travels at a different speed because each is placed at a different radius. Which feels the greater centripetal force? This ongoing experiment studies how the stems of the plants grow in the presence of this constant force. Does the light in the room have a stronger affect of the direction of stem growth?
