TRY THIS How acute is your sense of smell? Position your nose near the top of the angled tube. Press the plunger. What does the smell remind you of? Something you ate? Someone? Try the other angled tube and plunger.

WHAT IS HAPPENING The plungers squeeze sprays of scents that your nose picks up. The scent molecules are captured by the mucus in your nose. They are carried along by the waving hair-like cilia in the nasal cavity to detectors (olfactory cells) which send signals to your brain which then 'associates' the smells with your past experiences.
