TRY THIS Hold down the left button for a few seconds so that the left rod moves to a new position. While looking through the peephole, try to bring the other rod level with the left rod by using the 2 right buttons. Try this using one eye, then the other.
WHAT IS HAPPENING Accurate judgement of distance and depth is important. Each eye receives a 2-dimensional image. But as they are set apart, each eye sees from a slightly different angle and receives a slightly different image. Along with other cues, our brain compares the 2 retinal images and deduces depth or distance from the image differences. Mismatching rods shows less accurate, even erratic depth perception when using one eye only. Both eyes simultaneously are needed for accurate determination. |
