WHAT IS HAPPENING
As ecological observatories, these terrariums or "habitats-in-tanks" have been created to observe colonies of mealworms and harlequin cockroaches. Study these populations carefully. Can you locate examples in the different stages of their life cycles? Do mealworms have the same number of stages as cockroaches? Do the adults look similar to the young? What are the environmental conditions that must be maintained to sustain these insects? What ecological niches are suitable for these animals?
