PS–17   Giant Periscope

Look through the periscope. Open the side-cover and see the intricate arrangement of its optical (lens) components and structure.

WHAT IS HAPPENING
A periscope is an optical instrument that allows you to see above and over tall obstacles. It is made up of a series of precisely placed lenses and prisms. The lenses "conduct" the light along the tube keeping it within a narrow path. Two prisms at the top and bottom of the tube, redirect the light at right angles.
