INFORMATION

It is vital that you read the competition's format, especially the Competition Process.
You may also find the Frequently Asked Questions to be particularly informative.
The competition is open to
- ALL teaching or academic staff of ALL non-tertiary schools in Singapore.
  Non-tertiary schools are defined thusly:
  - all MoE schools – primary and secondary schools, and junior colleges,
  - all Institute of Education (ITE) campuses and colleges, and,
  - all international schools offering programmes for similar age groups (7-18/19), and,
- ALL trainees of the National Institute of Education.
- EXCEPTIONS:
  Past IRON SCIENCE TEACHERS OF THE YEAR may also participate
  BUT will be precluded from winning the top prize
  - in the IST competition of the year immediately following their title year,
    and/or,
  - in any subsequent IST competitions for which the "study trip" prize's destination is the same as his/her award.
  This is so to give other teachers the opportunity to go on the study trip.
  Your continued participation is very much encouraged to
  - "mentor" other and new participants, and
  - demonstrate the qualities of IST winners.
Contestants need NOT be Science teachers or Science NIE trainees,
but their competition "lessons" (presentations) must be on a science topic.
The organiser reserves the right to reject an application.
- Due to time constraints, the competition can only register a limited number of contestants.
- Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
- A limited number of "walk-in" contestants may be permitted, depending on the number of pre-registrants.
Please note that proof of identity may be needed.
This may be in the form of
- an NRIC or Passport, and/or,
- a letter from your School/Institution stating your designation and status.
A special Sharing Session aiming to bring past participants and potential participants together to share in the spirit of the competition,
is arranged for 12 September 2008 at 3pm in the Newton Room, Science Centre Singapore.
- Please use the form below to indicate your interest to attend the Sharing Session.
- Other Sharing Sessions may be organised. Please inquire with the organisers directly.
You may wish to invite your colleagues, friends and family to cheer you on during your presentation.
- Entry into Science Centre Singapore is complimentary for those who pre-register.
