I-Robotics Programme: 6 Modules
|
| |
|
| |
Module
1: "Stack & Build" -
Enter the realm of Robotics |
| |
|
| |
Come and join this very amazing workshop on basic
robotics building. Participants will have the opportunity to
be engulfed in the world of robotics and learn about its importance
in today’s world of technology. Students will also get
the chance to use the RCX, and learn how to build and construct
secure robots using the LEGO MINDSTORMS set. |

Module 2: "Command & Control" – an introduction to Robolab
Programming |
| |
|
| |
Sign up for this exciting workshop and you will
be introduced to basic Robolab Programming. At the end of this
workshop, the participants will know how to program a robot
to move forward, backward, looping and learn different methods
of turning a robot using the ROBOLAB software. They will also
learn about Infra-Red Transmission. |

Module 3: "Geared Up!" |
| |
|
| |
Find out more about the different types of gears in the
LEGO Mindstorms set like bevel gear, rack gear and even worm gear. Experiment
with the different gears to produce different gear ratios, what is gearing
up or gearing down plus lots more…Observe the rotation of the
gears as you try to build your own simple gear models using the LEGO
parts. Finally apply what you have learnt to tackle a challenge building
your very own Sprint robot! |

Module 4: "Lift off!" |
| |
|
| |
Do you know how pulleys work? What are the different types
of pulley system present in our everyday lives? Learn about the principles
behind a pulley system and construct your own pulley model using the
LEGO set… experiment lifting up different weights – from
light to heavy. Push your pulley model to the ultimate limit! Solve
a challenging problem posed to you using the knowledge that you have
gained from the workshop … the strongest pulley model wins! |

Module 5 & 6: "Sense
IT! " |
| |
|
| |
Ever wondered how a robot “smell”, “touch”, “taste”, “hear” and “see”?
Can a robot do all 5? Explore a robot’s sensory system and discover
how to get it moving using these senses. Understand their practical
usage in everyday life, and learn how to design and assemble a robot
with these senses. Also learn advanced programming skills involving
these functions using Robolab, and pit yourself against other participants
for challenging exercises! |
