Dialogue with Time is an exhibition exclusively on the topic of ageing. This fully-guided experience is facilitated by retirees who will lead a group of visitors through various zones in the exhibition. The key highlight of the tour are two discussion zones where the senior guides will facilitate dialogues with visitors to overcome stereotypes or misguided assumptions associated with old age. Other interactive exhibits within the exhibition also allow you to experience and understand more about the ageing process and reconsider your perception of age.

Exhibition Highlights

Dialogue with Time (Guided Tour)

Dialogue Room 1 – Ageing is a Personal Matter

The senior guide will share his or her thoughts with the participants on what happy ageing means via his or her personal story and experience. Participants get to share their take on happy ageing as well through a dialogue with the guide.

Yellow Room

In the Yellow Room, participants will get to experience the different stages of ageing such as a weakened sense of hearing, seeing and mobility.

Explore and interact with five exhibits that simulate age-related limitations, helping you gain an insight into the sensory, physical and intellectual challenges that come with old age. You will also find information that can help to cope with these limitations if they occur.

Pink Room

In this room, visitors can listen to five videos, featuring short stories of active senior citizens and the experiences gained in their later years. These centre around topics such as “Finding Love Online” and “Re-employment of Seniors” aimed to help adopt a positive attitude towards ageing.

Dialogue Room 2 – The Future of Ageing

Participants will be engaged in a quiz on population statistics in Singapore. A discussion on the future of ageing will be facilitated by the guide.

Zone 1: Science of Ageing (Unguided)

Science of Ageing

When does ageing begin? Why do we get wrinkles or experience joint issues with the passage of time? Find out more about what happens to our body as we grow older. Key highlights are the heartbeat drum, ‘ageing’ photo booth, and sense of balance game.

Zone 3: Science of Ageing (Unguided)

Science & Technology

Innovations divided into 3 segments; robotics, home, and mobility will shed an insight to the use of science and technology to assist ageing.
