Ever had an idea for a crazy machine? If your answer is “yes”, this competition is for you!

Unleash your creative potential at the SAMC 2011 and challenge yourself to construct an impressive machine that performs a simple task in as many distinct steps as possible.
 

WHAT IS SAMC ABOUT?

The SAMC is a science competition in which teams dream up and construct a complex machine that performs a seemingly simple task in as many steps as possible. This competition rewards the inventive spirit. Teams will need to showcase their creativity and problem solving skills, and construct a machine that successfully carries out the task in the most number of steps.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

This competition is open to students at the following levels:

RULES & REGULATIONS

• There is no limit to the number of entries from each school.
• Each team can only have a maximum of 5 students each.
• Each student can only participate in one team.
• Team members must be from the same school.

You will need to submit an online registration and the drawing plans through your teacher by
Tuesday, 3 May 2011. Drawing plans are available for download on the website.

Submission of drawing plans are to be submitted to Ms Lim Li Chen (SAMC 2011 Organising Committee) via Fax: 6775 6910 or Email to: samc@highsch.nus.edu.sg

The teams who are shortlisted for the Finals will be announced on the website or through an email in mid-May 2011.
