Tinker Technique

Tinker Technique is a parent-child workshop which aims to develop our next generation with lifelong skills. It is also a fun family-bonding session!

Our workshop explores specific STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) concepts and tool techniques, like hammering and hot glue gun. At the end of the workshops, your child will be equipped with fine motor skills and the confidence to embrace the future of limitless discovery.

Digital Making with Micro:bit Workshop
Date: 10 March, 15 April, 12 May, 12 August, 13 October, 16 December 2018
Time: 9.30am - 11.30am
Target Audience: 9 -12 years old (Parent and Child) 
Venue: The Digital Movie Studio, Science Centre Singapore
Synopsis: Join this hands-on workshop that uses mirco:bit to learn the fundamentals of coding and making. During the workshop, you will progress from drag-and-drop coding to creating your own projects like crafting customised LED messages, playing music or making your own step tracker - the possibilities are endless.

Suitable for children ages 9 to 12, this workshop will teach them basic programming skills and inspire them to be creative and make things with technology. Each parent-child pair will be given a Micro:bit to take home and continue the learning and making.

Egg Drop Challenge
Date: 3 March 2018
Time: 10.30am - 12pm
Target Audience: 7 years old and above (Parent and child)
Venue: The Tinkering Studio, Hall E, Science Centre Singapore
Synopsis: Eggs are fragile! Drop it from a height and land it safely. Learn how to build a simple parachute and test it with a real egg. Take on multiple challenges as increased complexity will be introduced during the workshop.

Cardboard Carnival
