SCINEMATION 2012

In recent years, animation has been a field that is rapidly gaining popularity in Singapore, especially with the establishment of new film and media schools and a fast growing number of media companies. In line with this trend, Science Centre Singapore will be organising the stop motion animation competition, SCINEMATION for the 2nd year.

Through SCINEMATION, we aim to:

  • Nurture the passion of learning in students.
  • Offer students a unique medium to express their ideas and develop their understanding in science.
  • Offer the opportunity for students to explore relationships between Science, Art, Language and Technology in a creative way.
  • Foster teamwork through sharing ideas, working together to storyboard, create characters and sets and animating them to create a short story.
  • Offer an opportunity for participants to network and form friendships and alliances.
  • Provide participants an excellent opportunity to learn from professionals in the animation industry.
