Biotech Fair Competition 2011
The life sciences is an area filled with exciting possibilities. As the potential in this field is being realised, many life science programmes have been initiated to create awareness and interest in this area. The Biotech Fair Competition is one such annual event organised to bring greater awareness of biotechnology among students and to interest them in life science careers. The Competition is jointly organised by the Singapore Science Centre and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The Biotech Fair Competition is open to all secondary students. This annual event provides an opportunity for secondary students to work on projects in the Biotechnology field. The biotechnology competition entry form, with a short project description must be submitted by 21 April 2011.

Students should undertake an innovative project pertaining to any area of Biotechnology. Examples of projects include Medical Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Biotechnology and Agrotechnology, etc. Biotechnology is often defined as 'the way we use plant and animal cells and microbes to produce substances which are useful to man'.

Workshop
To guide the students on how to carry out project work, a workshop entitled ‘Successful Project Work’ will be conducted. Students are strongly encouraged to attend the workshop (registration required). Please register by 12 April 2011.
