The potential candidate will assist the Senior Director (Projects & Exhibitions), in the implementation of the Centre’s exhibition programmes.

He/She will oversee the Exhibitions and Exhibits Maintenance Group to ensure smooth implementation and maintenance of permanent and temporary exhibitions at the Centre.  The incumbent will also be responsible for liaising with external parties and other departments in the Centre in the setting up of exhibitions as well as the maintenance of all exhibits in the Centre.

He/she has to also perform weekend duties (including public holidays) as and when required and other duties as directed.

The ideal candidate should possess a Degree in Science or its equivalent, preferably with 5 years of relevant working experience in Exhibitions Development and Setup; Exhibit Design and Construction or industrial experience in related field.  Good organizational and communication skills would be an advantage.


The candidate will manage the full spectrum of the Learning & Development (L&D) function for the Centre. This includes working closely with the management to ensure that policies, processes and programs are developed, implemented, communicated and constantly administered in compliance with organisational objectives and with relevant laws/regulations; managing the L&D budget to ensure that learning needs are met within budgetary constraints; conducting learning needs analysis and develop an annual Total Learning Plan that incorporates needs identified from learning needs and other methodologies; evaluating the effectiveness of L&D programs to identify areas of improved performance for future L&D plans; working with external providers to develop training content in line with the needs of the Centre; and providing reports to management identifying L&D utilisation and initiatives, as well as proposals for new L&D activity/projects. Other areas of scope include conducting HR Orientation and reviewing Corporate Orientation Programme for new staff; administering and reviewing in-house scholarship/sponsorship programme; conducting Organisation Climate Survey (OCS) and follow up on implementation of Action Plan once in three years; develop and conduct Staff Engagement Survey to gauge staff engagement level in the interim period where no OCS was to be conducted; and taking on ad-hoc projects and assignments to contribute to the betterment of the department and/or organisation.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree and/or a professional qualification in Human Resources or Learning & Development, and have considerable experience in Human Resource Development at a middle management level with minimum 5 years in managing the learning and development function within an organisation. He/she should possess a positive attitude, great drive and initiative to push the HR Development function to a strategic level.


You will assist in the evaluating (technical aspects) and proposing of available and suitable
Temporary Exhibitions for the Centre, including managing operational issues for the entire exhibition period. You will also be involved in all technical aspects of the events/exhibitions organized by the department, such as venue liaison, manpower coordination, electrical and mechanical requirements etc.; as well as providing assistance and full support in terms of liaison, coordination and management of all logistical and operational aspects of the various Temporary Exhibitions and major annual Events (including national level competitions) under the charge of the department.

For the various Travelling Exhibitions and programmes under the department’s responsibilities, you will assist in coordinating the logistics and movement of the exhibitions/programmes; looking into systems and processes to better organize and facilitate movement of the Centre’s suite of Travelling Exhibitions in the region; assisting in the maintenance, safekeeping and audit of the department’s travelling exhibitions and assets; as well as supervising and leading the installation and de-installation of the Centre’s Travelling Exhibitions at overseas venues.

You should possess a Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have at least 2 years of working experience, preferably in relevant fields.

Good project management and communication skills, both in written and verbal form, are essential. Additionally, you should be independent, resourceful, possess great initiative and be willing to travel occasionally.


As an IT Support Engineer, you shall perform daily support of application systems to ensure systems availability. You will be required to provide assistance and liaise with users and vendors on all matters pertaining to application systems. Besides, you shall be responsible to perform troubleshooting and tracking of reported issues for application systems. In addition, you will need to perform documentation update for the application systems.

You shall possess at least 2 years working experience in a similar capacity with a Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology. You must have strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, interpersonal & communication skills. Experience in supporting various application systems such as Ticketing Point-of-Sales, Interactive & Payment Kiosks, Digital Signages, Internet and Intranet applications on Microsoft Windows Server, IIS & SQL Server will be an advantage.

CREATIVE DESIGNER (contract till end Mar 2018)

The candidate will join the Graphic Design team which is responsible for creating corporate and marketing collaterals (campaigns, brochures, print ads, etc.) across the Centre’s product range. He/she will be responsible for the creation of new and original designs from scratch for brands based on client specifications; and adhere to the Centre’s branding policy and quality standard with minimum guidance. He/she should also be able to multi-task and assist with photo shoots as needed.

The ideal candidate should have up-to-date knowledge of current trends in marketing, design and applicable design technology. He/she should be self-motivated, professional and must have the ability to interact, communicate, present ideas and work in collaboration with others.

The candidate should possess at least a Diploma in Graphic or Multimedia Design and/or creative field equivalent, with at least 3 years of professional design experience. He/she should present a strong portfolio demonstrating solid experiences in both traditional media and online marketing.  Proficiency in the use of design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash) and Microsoft Office is a must.

The candidate should have good knowledge about design elements, such as colour and composition. Artistic ability and creativity are essential with strong problem solving skill as an added advantage.


As a technician, you will look after the maintenance and proper functioning of the exhibits in the Centre. You will be required to carry out periodic maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical and computer-related faults that might arise with exhibits, in the Science Centre.

Ideally, the candidate should possess at least a HIGHER NITEC in Mechatronics / Electronics or equivalent. He should also be proficient in the used of simple test equipment in exhibit troubleshooting work and have at least 2 years of work experience in maintaining and servicing electronic, electro-mechanical equipment.

Good knowledge of computer hardware and programming systems would be an advantage.

Diploma holders will also be considered.

Rotating 5-day work shifts is a requirement, while duties on weekends and public holidays will be scheduled as and when required.

Ability to handle basic equipment and tools, like screw drivers and test pens will be very useful in carrying out the duties, and have a strong interest in taking apart or fixing things.

The Facilities & Estate Management (FEM) team is looking for a suitable candidate to join its team, on contract basis (renewable), as Technician to ensure that the facilities and M&E services are maintained effectively through efficient utilisation of resources available that will enhance staff’s working environment and visitors’ experience.

As a technician, the candidate will assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of buildings and M&E services and all matters related to the maintenance of the estate and property. Carry-out handyman and breakdown maintenance works (e.g. electrical, sanitary, plumbing, building repair works, etc). Conduct routine building inspections and monitor the performance of the M&E systems and cleanliness of the building especially the toilets and drains.

He/she is also required to assist in the set-up of furniture and equipment for events and perform shows and duties on weekends and public holidays as and when required.

The candidate should possess at least a Higher NITEC/NITEC in Facility Management or Building Services Technology (Mechanical & Electrical Services)/ (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration) or Electrical Technology or Electrician (Industrial) Licence or equivalent. 

He/she should have at least 2 years of working experience in facilities and estate management or M&E services and maintenance and a basic computer knowledge particularly in Microsoft Office.

Diploma holders will also be considered.

The candidate must be able to interact with people, a good team player and has value qualities such as, being professional, with initiative, passion and quality service in all aspects of interaction with both internal and external customers that will make the role even more enjoyable.


As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service experience. You will interact with visitors, provide information and assist with visit planning.  You will provide point of sales operations, handle admissions and make public announcements. Visitor Services Assistants are present in a variety of areas at the Centre such as simulators, special exhibits areas and theatres.  You will also be required to handle reception duties including but not limited to bookings and registrations.  
The ideal candidate should possess 3 GCE “O” level passes or its equivalent with relevant working experience, good spoken English and have a customer service mentality.

The candidate should have a cheerful disposition and be detailed oriented.  To perform well in a team environment, you must be able to communicate well, be a good team player, and show great enthusiasm with positive work attitude. You will need to be able to multi-task while working under pressure and independently.


The Centre may require temporary manpower from time to time. You should be able to contribute to areas of administration or customer service.

You should possess at least GCE 'A' Level and speaks good English. You should have a cheerful disposition and enjoy working with people.

Specifically for customer service positions, you must be able to work on shift and all weekends and public holidays. Some front-line or customer service experience will be an advantage.
